Meet OUR Strategic initiatives director

KU’ULEI FAAVAVAU wong

[Kānaka Maoli & Samoan]
[she/her/hers]

Kuʻulei Wong organizes to disrupt the imperial diminishment of Pacific Islanders on the continent. Her professional history is grounded in developing strategies and partnerships that address the health and education disparities our communities navigate.

As the Strategic Initiatives Director at OPIC, Kuʻulei is responsible for stewarding the Coalition's health and education initiatives and guiding our technical policy, advocacy, data, and research functions. Prior to OPIC, Kuʻulei provided project management support to philanthropic strategic planning and grant making processes at Meyer Memorial Trust and United Way of the Columbia-Willamette. Ku'ulei's work is guided by her vision of creating a future where Pacific Islanders do not compromise and have every opportunity to step into their power.

When she's away from the office, Ku'ulei spends her time with family, playing volleyball, or singing karaoke with friends.
