Kayla is a systems thinker, policy analyst, and creative focused on harnessing innovative thinking, research, and data to transform vision into meaningful change. Raised in Kahuku, Hawai’i, Kayla’s life has largely been shaped by the landscape and rhythm of her island, family, and communities.

As Operations Manager, Kayla stewards the finance, people, and operational functions of OPIC, ensuring that our organizational systems can power our ability to meet the strategic commitments made to our communities.

Kayla formerly served as Community Outreach Coordinator at OSU’s Kaku-Ixt Mana Ina Haws, ensuring indigenous and native students were connected to resources that support their success. Kayla is a former Hatfield Fellow through Portland State University’s Center for Public Service, and previously worked at Oregon Metro driving a range of organizational development initiatives and programming.

In her free time, Kayla enjoys trying new Portland food spots, and relaxing with her rescue chihuahua, Riley.
